Hot Vox presents:
Amulet – looking like they would be at home home headlining a huge stadium show, it’s clear that they’re inspired by Oasis, however, Amulet takes the inspiration and makes that style of music their own – something that not many Gallagher-inspired bands can do. Although they’re very much an indie band, they have managed to pull off the almost impossible, and separate themselves from similar bands by adding their own unique style to their music. Their songs aren’t only original, but they are catchy too, making you dance and attempt to sing along whether you know the words or not.
Kid Jupiter – a 5-piece indie pop outfit utilising their love of a cappella music to make multiple clones of themselves until it’s far too late. With a musical background highlighted by choral singing, traditional folk tunes and classical composition, what emerges is a mixture of dense, euphoric harmonies, energetic live performances and occasionally unorthodox pop song structures, with lyrics steeped in playful honesty and many, many rhymes.
Sweet Lime – an indie rock trio from Bristol. Dan’s bass lines inspired by funk, reggae and disco music are matched by the groovy natural rhythm of Harry’s performance on Drums and the clean chorus drenched crunch of Leigh’s guitar lines. While main vocals come from Leigh, all three of Sweet Lime’s members can be heard belting out the catchy chorus hooks.
Slow Bridges – a 5-piece power pop band serving up London’s finest warm, fuzzy, would-be hits from a world in thrall to Teenage Fanclub, Dinosaur Jr, The Zombies and My Bloody Valentine.
Music students (ACM, BIMM and ICMP) receive Early Bird ticket price on the door. Valid student photo ID required and entry is subject to capacity.
